Summer Break: Sunrises, Tides & Rainbows - How Precedents Really Break

During our summer break, we’re revisiting powerful conversations from Season One of Breaking Precedent. In this episode, host Leah Sullivan explores the many forms of disruptive change—framed as sunrises, tides, and rainbows. Leah is joined by a range of precedent-breakers across disciplines, including Eric Ryan, who reimagined consumer goods; Pete Flynn, who rides the waves of market shifts; and Justice Steven Breyer, who reflects on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the case that overturned Roe v. Wade. We also hear from Patrick Brown, founder of Impossible Foods, and Kara Golden, who challenged the beverage industry with Hint Water. The episode concludes with artist Trevor Paglen, whose work uncovers hidden systems and challenges perception.
